Terms of service

CanisCool ("we", "us") respects your privacy and your dog's. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act.

1. Data controller

CanisCool, Norway. Email post@caniscool.no for any privacy questions or to exercise your rights.

2. What we collect

Order data: name, shipping address, email, phone (for delivery), order history.
Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe / Shopify Payments). We never see or store your card number.
Account data: if you create an account — email and a hashed password.
Usage data: pages visited, device type, anonymised IP (only if you accept analytics cookies).
Marketing data: if you accept marketing cookies, we share hashed identifiers with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) for ad performance.

We do not collect data about your dog beyond what you voluntarily share (e.g. size for sizing recommendations).

3. Why we use it (legal basis)

Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to process and ship your order.
Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): bookkeeping, tax, consumer law.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): analytics, marketing cookies, newsletter — only if you opt in.
Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): fraud prevention, basic site security.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with processors that help us run the shop, all under Data Processing Agreements (DPA):

Shopify — webshop and order management (EU/US, SCCs in place)
Stripe — payments
PostNord / Bring / DHL — delivery
17TRACK — order tracking aggregation
Meta — only if you accept marketing cookies

We never sell your personal data. Ever.

5. How long we keep it

Order data: 5 years (Norwegian bookkeeping law)
Account data: until you delete your account
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe
Analytics: max 14 months

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

Access a copy of your data
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict or object to processing
Data portability
Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. via the cookie banner)

Email post@caniscool.no and we'll respond within 30 days. You may also complain to Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority).

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for the cart and checkout (no consent needed), and optional analytics + marketing cookies (only after you accept in the cookie banner). You can change your choice anytime by clearing site data or contacting us.
